About GST

GST is an indirect tax system in which taxes are collected by a combination of state and federal governments on each transfer of goods and services to the next level until they reach the consumer, where the intermediaries are required to pay taxes (or collect taxes) on their margin from the next level of buyers or consumers. As a result, it is solely the Consumer's responsibility, because It might be at any level; nevertheless, it must carry the overall tax burden in the Goods and Services sector.

TYPES OF GST

Gst is divided into three categories.

CGST stands for central goods and services tax.
Easy to Apply

The Central Goods and Services Tax is abbreviated as CGST. It encompasses all taxes that were formerly levied as central indirect taxes. They are imposed by the federal government on the movement of goods and services within the state. Intrastate refers to the boundaries of a single state.

SGST stands for state goods and services tax.
Easy to Apply

In India, SGST is one of the tax components of GST. State Goods and Service Tax is now included in the SGST Act. It is one of three categories of the Goods and Service Tax (CGST, IGST, and SGST), all of which are based on the principle of "one tax, one nation." The State Government receives all of the tax revenue collected under the SGST heading.

Interstate Goods and Service Tax (IGST)
Easy to Apply

IGST, which will be governed by the IGST Act, is a tax levied on all inter-state supplies of goods and/or services under the GST. In both circumstances of import into India and export from India, the IGST will apply to any supply of goods and/or services. 06-Jul-2021

Gst is imposed dependent on whether the transaction is interstate or intrastate. Intra-State transactions are subject to CGST and SGST, whereas interstate transactions are subject to IGST.
